Loka Wiki

The arenas of Loka first began as a way to allow Lokans to settle conflicts in a a fair environment. Though it still retains this value, arenas have evolved far beyond simple conflicts. Players of Loka may enter a public queue to match up randomly to another person in the queue. There are currently 6 arenas that have been built by various players of the server and any player is able to suggest an arena that they have made. There are also various modes of duels you can challenge people in.

For those not interested in fighting, but still wish to spectate, there is a way you may do so. Using /pvp you can click on the compass, the "Watch Duels" button, and then click on a player head to spectate the duel. You are not allowed to speak in chat in the duel and you may not interfere in any way.

Equipment[]

Equipment is standard for every mode. Each player will receive a Protection IV set of gear, a Sharpness V diamond sword, a Power V bow with 24 arrows, 3 sets of buffs, 20 steak, and an inventory of health potions.

However, equipment for barebones differs from the standard kit of potion PvP, instead of what you get above, you get a diamond set and sword with enchants, but no food and there is no 33% damage buff.

Game Modes[]

The first game mode is unrated potion PvP, there are multiple ways of getting into one of these, you may use /duel, queue using /pvp and hitting the diamond sword, or by being in a passive queue you may turn on and off in /settings.

The second game mode is ranked potion PvP, to queue for this you can use /pvp and click on the potion. You will be paired with another person in the queue. There are currently 8 divisions that will be covered in this wiki page.

The third game mode is ranked barebones, to queue for this you can use /pvp and click on the stone sword. It has the same ranked system as potion PvP, with the eight divisions.

Ranked Divisions[]

Instead of the old system of an ELO number, there are now ranked divisions. In order to be placed into one of the eight ranked divisions, a player must complete 10 placement matches to determine their appropriate rank. There is also a leaderboard that can be viewed by right clicking on the potion in /pvp where you'd normally queue. If you hover over names on the leaderboard it will also show rank, wins, and losses. You may also view your own by simply hovering over the queue option in /pvp.

Ranked decay is also a feature of the Loka ranked duels, every Sunday night, there is a rank decay, to keep players that are interested still playing and so people cannot just sit with a massive lead and must continue to play in the ranked season if they wish to keep their rank.

Rankedpvp

The current ranks are (in increasing value), Wood, Stone, Copper, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, Netherite, and Bedrock. All of the ranks are divided into three, with I being the lowest and III being the highest in any particular rank, except for Bedrock and Wood rank which only have one division.

All eight ranked divisions. I is the lowest and III is the highest.

Passive Queue[]

Passive Queue is a feature of Loka that allows you to always be queued to either ranked, unranked, or ranked barebones. You may turn this off, or it may automatically turn off in specific situations like if you are at a fight or registered to a warp. In order to turn this off you can either shift right click the particular passive queue you want to turn off in /pvp or do /settings and locate the setting to turn off passive queue.

Ranked Queue Windows[]

Highly ranked players (Gold III and up for potion PvP and Iron III and up for barebones) can only queue at two one hour windows throughout the day. These times are made to account for peak times on the server. The two windows are (in EST):

1-2 PM (13:00 - 14:00)

and

8-9 PM (20:00 - 21:00)
