Religions

Creating a Religion

To create a religion on Loka, a player must get approval from a high admin. To get this approval, there are four standard requirements that must be completed to obtain the approval of your religion: A name for the religion, three players, including yourself, following the religion, a deity for the religion, a description of the religion, a name for the religion, and the holy site location for the religion.

Converting Players to your Religion

Within the holy site of your new religion, players are able to convert other players to the religion. Converting players to your religion is done by having both yourself and the player you wish to convert within the holy site and typing, /rl convert [Player Name].

Adding a Deity to your Religion

A deity is the person, place or thing that your religion worships. Setting a deity to your religion can be done by typing /rl deity [Noun] in chat. You do not have to be within your holy site to set the deity of your religion.

Adding a Description to your Religion

Descriptions of religions can be added using the command, /rl desc [Type your description here]. The description must be relevant to either, Minecraft, a player or town on Loka, or something about Loka's story in order to receive approval from a high admin. A player does not have to be within the holy site of the religion to add or edit their religion description.

A description has a max character limit as one line of default minecraft text. Descriptions have access to the use of flavor text for players to add some extra detail to their religion.

Adding Color to Text

To change the colour of text, add the appropriate colour code (pictured bellow) before the text you wish to colour. For example, to make text gold, you would type:

Colors of Text

/rl desc &6This would be gold text in game

A player can also have multiple colors in one line of text. A player can change the color of text by adding another color code at any point during the line. An example would look like this:

/rl desc &9This is blue &aNow this is green.

No spaces are required between the colour codes and text. Adding colour codes does take up the character limit.

Adding Emphasis to Text

Players may also add emphasis to text, such as bold text, underline, and italics. If you are adding colour and emphasis to the same word you must place the emphasis code before the colour code. For example:

/rl desc &l&n&cThis text would be bold, underlined, and the colour red

If a player wants emphasis or colour to stop before the end of a line, typing &r will reset the following text back to standard.

Approval of your Religion

Once all the criteria of your religion are completed, a head admin will then review your religion. If any everything is completed and follows all criteria, your religion will be approved. Once your religion is approved, 60 faith will automatically be added to your religion (20 faith per each follower). Your religion can now be viewed with the command, /rl info. A prompt in chat will show all details about your religion including:

  • Name of the religion
  • Current amount of faith for the religion
  • Description of the religion
  • Founder of the religion
  • Leader(s) of the religion
  • Date founded
  • Where the holy site is
  • Members of the religion

Faith

Faith is the amount of belief within a religion. Faith can only be obtained through praying. A religion will always start with 60 faith.

Viewing Faith

To view how much faith your religion has, a player can either type /rl info or /rl list. /rl info will show everything about your religion that you follow, while /rl info will bring up a list of all religions on Loka.

Praying

Praying is what you do to produce faith for the religion you are currently following. A player can pray once every eight hours. Praying will produce two faith within the holy site of the religion and one faith anywhere else on Loka.

How to Pray

A player is able to pray by typing the command, /pray. Praying takes approximately 20 seconds and you must stand still the entire time while praying.

Decaying Faith

A player following the religion must pray at least once every 24 hours or faith will begin to decay. If no one prays within 24 hours, one faith will be removed from the religion every 24 hours. One extra faith will be lost if no one in the religion prays. For example, after 48 hours of no one following the religion prays, the religion will lose two faith. After 72 hours, the religion will lose three faith. This pattern will continue up to ten days, losing ten faith per day. When a religion runs out of faith, the religion will be forgotten and deleted.

Holy Site

Within a holy site of a religion, players can convert other non following players to their religion.

Religion Chat

Players have access to a religion chat when part of a religion. This chat may only be seen by other members of your religion. Religion chat does not have a fast chat command, but may only be used by switching to the religion chat channel. The channel for religion is /ch rl.
