February 16, 2011 - December 3, 2011[]
The server began on February 16, 2011, and was initially called "The Artifact". It was created by asymptonic. The first world of Loka is Sanya (the world name at the time was not known). The first four guardians of "The Artifact" are DiabolicalMech, mopb3, Gallius, and Magpieman. The only known slicer from this time is Preksak. The new players that joined from February 16, 2011, to December 3, 2011, are first-generation Lokans.
December 3, 2011 - July 14, 2013[]
The second world of Loka is named Ak (the world name at the time was not known). Players who joined during this world are either second-generation Lokans or third-generation Lokans. On July 16, 2012, Loka shifts news articles from a Minecraftarium site to https://lokamc.com/forums. It is unclear the exact date of the rename from "The Artifact" to "Loka." It is noted that the only remaining evidence on the server of this change besides the steam group is within the Aladran Museum.
Loka updates to 1.3.1 on August 7, 2012. November 2012, Cryptite makes the Official Update Thread sticky and shortens the /generator to /g, and introduces town chat. From November 2012 to January 2013, the beloved /g commands are gradually introduced. The RP events within this era are The Attack on Preksak's Lab and Battle of the Spire. Within this era, generators on Loka without any levers are tracked and will delete within three weeks. Loka updates to 1.5 and changes server hosts in March 2013.
July 14, 2013 - December 7, 2013[]
The third world had the shortest lifespan for a world on Loka and is named Da (the world name at the time was not known). For all players who joined during this world, they are third-generation Lokans. September 2013, Loka updates to 1.6.4. In May 2013, Valley of the Artifacts is introduced along with the Arena players' ranks changing colors depending on how high you are. In November 2013, Cryptite introduced a better tab list. December 4, 2013, was the day when making a town was made to require two other founders.
December 7, 2013 - September 19, 2015[]
The fourth world is named Taan (the world name at the time was not known). The players who join at this time are fourth-generation Lokans. January 9, 2014, Cryptite announced TNT cannoning is forbidden on Loka along with other town betrayal rules. March 2014, Tips! are added and the market is added. In May 2014, Towns 2.0 is announced with leveling perks and ranks. On October 20, 2014, Loka receives a twitch channel. September 21, 2014, Cryptite announces Capital Policies. Spawners are disabled on November 28, 2014. February 1, 2015, Magpieman announces Iron Golems will not drop iron ingots anymore to prevent players from farming infinite emeralds. During this time, emeralds were used as a currency. May 29, 2015, With the Argus alliance being powerful, territories received an overhaul. June 17, 2015, player's alts or possible alts have become public due to massive amounts of alt towns. August 6, 2015, Loka 2.0 is announced. September 16, 2015, Magpieman announces industry updates, and the market skill is removed.
September 19, 2015 - Present[]
The fifth world of Loka is also known as Char. Char is home to the fifth-generation, sixth-generation, and seventh-generation Lokans. Unlike the other worlds, Char has custom terrain and three continents. The three continents are Kalros, Ascalon, and Garama. In late September 2015, Automatic Town Territories and New Generator costs were introduced.
October 25, 2015, Cryptite announces Garama is on planet Minecraft. In November 2015, Loka gets a new world map, the mine and windmill are introduced, alongside the radar. In December 2015, World Capital is now decided by strength instead of voting. Conquest and T Gen costs are changed again on January 5, 2016. Loka drops TeamSpeak for Discord. The End is released on March 11, 2016. Spawn gets updated in Early May. Conquest 2.0 is announced on July 10, 2016, by, Cryptite. Town Jobs are introduced to keep new players on Loka. October 3, 2016, Alts are officially banned on Loka. The only exception to the No-Alt rule is for RP Alts. Resource Isles come out on March 11, 2017.
November 13, 2017, is the day that armor colors come out for conquest battles. On Feburary 23, 2018, Everyone got access to the Applications and Ranks forum. Anyone could nominate someone for Slicer regardless of having Slicer. Bans become public in April 2018. Bountiful Territories come out on June 20, 2018. Loka updates the Harassment/Bullying Policy.
Loka converts to 1.13.2 on March 4, 2019. Lokan Community Representatives are introduced on August 19, 2019. The First LCRs are marblesack12, Kxph, spiderm3n, and Qfu. November 9, 2019, Ruins 2.0 was announced. On May 30, 2020, 1.15.2 is released. July 27, 2020, Loka's chat has a massive overhaul to the chats. The Client-side Mod whitelist is introduced in late August and the approved client-side mods are shown in mid-September. On the 6th of October Loka updated to 1.16.3. Later in this month the chat is once again revamped, introducing Lokan Guides, the Guide Channel, and tweaks about colours of the channels. Cryptite removed nomad versus town fights on November 7, 2020. On February 3 2021, tab was revamped to better display players alignment with your town, as well as conquest tablets to see who's registered, who's warping, who can't warp. Combat tags were also introduced at that same time.
